What are esports?
Electronic sports, known simply as esports, are sports competitions using video games. They can be based on a wide range of popular sports, from football, motor racing and tennis to ice hockey, basketball and many others.
You’ll also find some esports are based on first-person shooter (FPS) games such as Counter-Strike or Rainbow Six or are multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games such as Dota 2 and League of Legends. These games are played predominantly by professionals either on their own or as part of a team.
What’s the clock time on an esports event?
An esports event is generally played over a much shorter period than the actual sport it replicates. For example, football matches may be played with six-minute halves compared to the regular 45-minute ones in real-life games.
If you do see a clock on an esports event, please bear in mind it may not be accurate due to the fast nature of the event.
Why is my bet taking so long to settle?
We can only settle bets on results from our official providers and not other sources such as Twitter, Twitch and YouTube. While we always try to settle bets as quickly as possible, the process can sometimes take up to 24 hours.
What are virtual sports?
Virtual sports are computer-generated events based on real-life sports. Results are produced by a random number generator, in the same way that online slots and casino games are determined. The advantage of virtual sports is they are much shorter in length and are available at any time.
