What happens to my bet if my player retires during the match? Player retirements mainly occur in tennis, but can also happen within other sports. In the case of match bets, the player or team advancing to the next round or winning the tournament is considered the winner, despite withdrawals or disqualifications. At least one set must be completed for bets to stand. For example, if you bet on a player and after the first set has been played there is then a retirement, the player progressing to the next round will be deemed a winner for settlement purposes. If you bet on over 8.5 games in the second set and a player retires before finishing the first set, the bet is void since it can't be determined who would have won.
